What Inspires Me?
K-12 Online 2012
I participated in the K-12 Online Conference 2012 and really liked what I saw. I liked it so much I want it on my website. The first episode is called "Launching Learning - K12Online12 PreConference Keynote by Kevin Honeycutt" and may be viewed here. This is about teachers getting rid of laminated lesson plans and using project based learning to motivate and inspire students to want to learn. He made me think it is possible.
I watched another episode called "Digital Tools for Differentiating Vocabulary Instruction" and can be viewed here. This presentation was mind boggling! The tools presented can take vocabulary instruction so far beyond what is happening today that I am in shock and awe! I want every teacher in both of my schools to see this and do it! I know that is a big dream and it probably won't happen but I am going to try. First I am going to send the link to both administrations. I have a feeling I know which one will watch it! ;) Time will tell if I am right or wrong. I can at least try, for the sake of the students!
